Iconic Poster Series - Revolver by The Beatles

My next poster is The Beatles - Revolver (1966) as chosen by myself.
My poster designs for this album are inspired by the original artwork of friend and artist Klaus Voormann from the cover sleeve (shown above) and the instructions which were given to him by the band, its should be sketched and in black and white.

The main focus on the original artwork are faces, so for these poster designs I started with sketching the faces of the Beatles using my graphics tablet. Once this was finished I thought it may be good to give the fab four their own posters.  When I began to listen to Revolver it was easy to hear each member has their own style and inspiration when writing songs. John, Paul, George and Ringo all had lead vocals in songs on the album so I came up with the idea of adding the lyrics of my favourite song behind each face. For John Lennon I chose Tomorrow Never Knows, Paul had Here, There and Everywhere, George and Ringo will be uploaded shortly...

The original artwork for Revolver is one of two Beatles albums which doesn't display the Beatles logo, but it does show the album name. With this in mind I highlighted Revolver in the background lyrics using a darker colour.

Everything shown below has been designed in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator with a Wacom Intous Pro tablet and my weapon of choice, a Macbook.
